Commenting on Warisan secretary-general Loretto Padua Jr’s denial of a “witch-hunt” against Musa, Jainab said the statement was nothing but an attempt at damage control.
She claimed it was clear that Warisan was indeed on a witch-hunt against Musa, and accused the party of acting like a bully by trying to tell the country’s enforcement agencies what to do.
“The Warisan leaders’ statements were reported in the news. So who is actually trying to fool the people here?” she said.
Padua had been responding to Sabah Umno chief Hajiji Noor who alleged that Warisan was trying to influence the authorities to take action against Musa.
Padua said Warisan was dissatisfied with the way Musa was accorded “special treatment” by the police and the Immigration Department upon his return to the country last week.
In response, Hajiji said the authorities should be allowed to do their job without fear or favour, and that such “harassment” by Warisan leaders was tantamount to abuse of power.
“This is exactly what Warisan has done. I advise them not to throw the rock and hide the hand.
“Warisan should just be patient and wait. Let the authorities do their job,” said Jainab.
