In the audio clips, a voice resembling that of de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim admitted that he was behind Rafizi Ramli’s decision to contest the party’s deputy president’s post.
“That’s why I asked Rafizi to go against Azmin, as Azmin has become a ‘barua’ (lackey) to Mahathir,” the voice in the clips said.
Wan Azizah said the voice was definitely not Anwar’s.
“That’s not true. We heard them and thought, ‘Oh God, whose work is this?’
“Its not him. I have already asked him. And also, I know for sure that’s not my husband’s voice,” she said at the Parliament building today.
Earlier, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said he did not want to interfere in PKR’s internal affairs and did not want to interfere in any rivalry between Anwar and Azmin.
