“We want to conduct this (investigation) judiciously and avoid a trial by media,” said Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, who is on a working visit to Sabah today.
He refused to disclose details on the investigations, adding that victims must feel comfortable enough to come forward.
“For the time being, we hope the media will not amplify this issue and allow us the space to really get to the bottom of this,” he added.
It was reported that the head of orthopaedics at a hospital had sexually harassed trainee doctors.
On a claim that the Selangor health department had issued a gag order on the matter, Dzulkefly said he was not aware of such a move.
“We think we can do the investigations well without the media overexposing this… we hope you will understand,” he said.
