Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said he was not in a position to comment on the issue as the purported shutdown was not part of an official statement.
“If there are any official statements, let it be made by the federal government, by the prime minister.
“I cannot comment as this involves other ministries as well. It is not right for me to do so.
“That is all I can say,” he told reporters after launching a pictorial book titled “Healing Penang Hill”.
Also present was Penang Hill Corporation general manager Cheok Lay Leng and Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng.
Lim was asked to respond to claims that seven agencies will be shut down.
