
Wan Azizah, who is also the deputy prime minister, said should the party’s current de-facto leader Anwar Ibrahim be elected president, PKR would most likely leave that post vacant.
“We haven’t discussed it yet, but we will announce our decision. Normally, there is no such post in the party,” she told reporters when met at the Parliament lobby.
She was asked to comment on her role in the PH coalition following her decision to opt out of the PKR election.
Meanwhile, PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali said Wan Azizah would continue to play a role in the party even though she would no longer be its president.
The party, Azmin said, would ensure she remained active in PKR.
“We will discuss her role in the party.”
Yesterday PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said Wan Azizah would remain the deputy prime minister regardless of the outcome of the party polls next month.
