KUALA LUMPUR:
PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali has yet to decide on what post to contest at the party polls slated for the end of the month or early September.

He said he would make the decision later as his focus now was on the current Parliament session which ends on Aug 16.

“At some point, I will make the decision. Right now, I only want to focus on the Parliament session,” he told reporters at the Dewan Rakyat lobby today.

Azmin, who is also the economic affairs minister, added that he had an obligation to answer the questions posed during the sitting.

Last Sunday, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim said he would be contesting the party’s presidency.

Anwar said he made the decision after discussing with his wife and current party president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, as well as Azmin and other PKR leaders.

PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, when met today, lauded her father’s decision.

“It’s high time for him (Anwar) to be politically active again and hold the top post in PKR because his right (to be active in politics) was denied for too long by the previous government,” she said.
