
This comes as the parents of graduate cadet officer J Soosaimanicckam demand a detailed explanation into their son’s death on May 19.
“I give the assurance of a free and fair probe without any cover-up,” Mohamad said in a statement.
Urging Soosaimanicckam’s family members to be patient, Mohamad also promised stern action if any foul play was found in his death.
Soosaimanicckam had complained of chest pains while undergoing his daily training.
He was later treated at the KD Sultan Idris 1 training camp.
The Royal Malaysian Navy said then that Soosaimanicckam’s training was supervised by physical trainers.
