KUALA LUMPUR:
The Selayang Magistrate’s Court here today extended for another seven days the remand order on a woman babysitter held in connection with the death of five-month-old Adam Rayqal Mohd Sufi.

The extension of the remand order issued by magistrate Nurul Izzah Hasan Basri will start tomorrow.

The 33-year-old babysitter and another woman, aged 36, were remanded for a week last Wednesday to facilitate investigations into the death of the baby. Their remand period will end today.

Police confirmed that the 36-year-old woman would be released on police bail today.

The infant was initially reported missing from the babysitter’s house last Tuesday. Police, however, found his body in the freezer compartment of a fridge in the house late the same night.

A post-mortem at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital revealed that Adam Rayqal had died due to severe head injuries from blunt force trauma.
