Siti Aishah to be appointed as Perak MB’s special adviser soon

Perak PKR information chief Senator Siti Aishah Shaik Ismail will be appointed as a special adviser to the menteri besar with the rank of a state executive councillor.

Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu said Siti Aishah’s appointment would come into force in the near future and she had been duly informed.

“Siti Aishah’s appointment is not based on any pressure by anyone as from early on we have intended to give her an important role.

“I personally talked to her (Siti Aishah) and she agreed to this appointment.

“She will act as a special adviser to assist on issues related to youth in Perak,” he told reporters after attending the Sungai Siput division’s PPBM Aidilfitri open house here today.

Previously, Siti Aishah was reported to have been nominated by PKR for the state assembly speaker’s post before she withdrew.

The post went to Beruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham, from DAP, who was appointed by consensus.

In another development, Faizal said the appointment of committee members of city councils and municipalities as well as district councils would be carried out by next week at the latest.

The appointment of the village heads would take more time to avoid any future problems.

The Hari Raya event was also attended by Education Minister Maszlee Malik and more than 200 PPBM members.
