It said the profiles of all companies and business entities in Malaysia could still be purchased through its e-info and MyData portals.
“It was never suspended and the public can continue to buy information freely,” SSM said in a statement in response to a report by FMT today.
It said two service providers – Raffcomm Sdn Bhd and Big Dataworks Sdn Bhd – were currently engaged to supply the corporate information to the public through the e-info and MyData portals.
It also said the notice on the SSM website referred to by FMT had been wrongly worded by one of the service providers.
“We would like to clarify that ACGS (attestation of company good standing) and company watch are actually undergoing product enhancement exercise and are expected to be available again in July 2018,” it said.
“The other two products, particulars of share capital and particulars of shareholders mentioned in the notice, are new products currently available on the MyData portal.
“The products are presently being tested for final release on the e-info portal.”
FMT had reported that a notice on the SSM website read: “Temporarily suspended until future notice – ACGS, company watch, particulars of share capital and particulars of shareholders.”
SSM said among the services available through both the portals were information on company profiles, business profiles, company charges, financial comparisons, “e-Info Image” and business termination letters.
The public could also access copies of certificates for business registration, incorporation, conversion and change of name, as well as certified true copy products.
They could also have particulars of firms’ registered addresses, directors, shareholders and share capital, it added.
