Barisan Nasional (BN) secured a two-thirds majority in the northern state, winning 10 of the 15 state seats it contested in the recent election. Pakatan Harapan won three (Kuala Perlis, Sena and Indera Kayangan), while PAS secured the remaining two (Sanglang and Guar Sanji).
