In a Facebook posting, Wee said he had written to both the Perlis and Pahang menteris besar on the matter.
In both letters, addressed to Perlis Menteri Besar Azlan Man and Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, Wee proposed that allocations for state assemblymen’s service centres and development expenditure should be channelled in a fair and just manner to assemblymen from both BN and Pakatan Harapan (PH).
“It is hoped that there would be no discrimination or punishment of people in any constituency.
“I hope the PH government would be able to govern the country even better and more fairly than the previous BN administration.
“Let us all come together and build a brand new Malaysia,” he said in his post.
Wee is the sole MCA representative to have won in the election, successfully defending his seat against DAP’s Liew Chin Tong.
BN was only able to retain Pahang and Perlis in the peninsula. PAS retained Kelantan and won back Terengganu while PH won the rest of the states.
The MCA deputy president’s Facebook post came on the back of his criticisms over the lesser amount of allocations to be given to representatives from the opposition coalition.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said the allocation for MPs would be disbursed before the Hari Raya celebrations.
Mahathir had said PH MPs would be given a RM500,000 allocation and RM200,000 for their service centres. However, he said opposition MPs would be given a lower allocation.
