PETALING JAYA:
Kuala Lumpur mayor Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz today said about 10 projects under the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) with an estimated value of RM1 billion had been scrapped.

“I also chopped a few more projects. Easily almost 10.

“The projects which have yet to be tendered, I chopped,” he told reporters after meeting the Council of Eminent Persons at Ilham Tower.

However, he did not provide any details on the projects which had been scrapped.

The meeting between Amin and the council members took slightly over an hour.

Former Bank Negara Malaysia governor, Zeti Akhtar Aziz, who is part of the council, said the announcement for all proposals received would be made by the council’s leader, Daim Zainuddin.

Although she said she did not know the timeframe for the announcements, she added that they would be made soon.
