Tabung Harapan raises RM30 mil in 5 days

Corporate donors in Penang and tycoon contribute RM3 million to help reduce country's debt.

Tabung Harapan, which was set up five days ago to help the government reduced its debt, has received a total of RM30 million in donations to date.

The latest contributions, amounting to RM3 million, were received from donors in Penang.

Ewein Berhad, Magni-Tech Industries Berhad and tycoon Tan Kok Ping donated RM1 million each to the fund.

“I would like to thank all the generous donors who had donated to us, I really appreciate it,” Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said after receiving the donations in Komtar today.

Present to handover the contributions were Ewein Berhad group managing director SK Ewe, Magni-Tech Industries Berhad managing director Ledand PS Tan and Magni-Tech’s executive chairman Tan Kok Ping.

The presentation of the mock cheque was witnessed by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
