PUTRAJAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad today began his first official day at work, operating from his office at the Perdana Leadership Foundation, just a stone’s throw away from the federal administrative complex whose construction he took a personal interest in some two decades ago.
The prime minister, sworn into office last week following the historic election which saw the fall of Barisan Nasional (BN), is currently meeting with ministry secretary-generals including Chief Secretary to the Government, Ali Hamsa.
An aide told FMT that Mahathir is also scheduled to welcome the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, later today.
Mahathir has named at least four top posts, including the deputy prime minister’s post for PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
