Jeffrey was appointed on Thursday night by Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Musa Aman, who was sworn in as chief minister on the same night.
However, Jeffrey may not be able to keep his position after the head of state, Juhar Mahiruddin, swore in Parti Warisan Sabah president Shafie Apdal on Saturday as the chief minister.

Musa is reportedly on his way to Kuala Lumpur after boarding a Malindo Air flight at 9am today.
In the meantime, Shafie is scheduled to arrive at the chief minister’s office this morning.
