KUCHING:
Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg has denied that the state government intends to join Pakatan Harapan (PH).

However, he said the state government would cooperate with the federal government as some things were still under Putrajaya’s jurisdiction.

“No (on joining PH)… What we will have is some sort of collaboration like what I said in my statement before this… There must be a collaboration because certain areas are under federal (government),” he told reporters here last night.

Abang Johari, who is also Sarawak Barisan Nasional chairman, said the decision against joining PH was made for the benefit of Sarawakians, and did not mean that they wanted to become a strong opposition.

When asked on the implementation of previously announced projects, Abang Johari said those under the state government were not affected as they had their own funding.

“As for federal government projects, I leave (the matter) to them,” he added.
