KUALA TERENGGANU:
PAS will be calling a special meeting of the party’s leadership soon to determine the form of cooperation, whether with Barisan Nasional (BN) or Pakatan Harapan (PH), to facilitate the establishment of the Kedah state government.

Its president Abdul Hadi Awang said at present, no party in Kedah was able to form the state government as none had managed to secure a simple majority in the 14th general election.

“We are the kingmakers in Kedah and we will discuss this at the special meeting,” he told reporters after the swearing-in ceremony of the Terengganu menteri besar at Istana Syarqiyyah, Chendering here last night.

Asked which party had the top priority in the cooperation, Hadi said PAS would look at those who could adjust their policies to accommodate PAS’ Islamic struggle.

Of the 36 state seats contested in Kedah, PH won 18, PAS 15 and BN three.
