Yesterday’s polls saw Barisan Nasional (BN) winning 27 of the 59 state seats, PH 29 and PAS 3.
This makes PAS the kingmaker as no one party is able to form the state government with a simple majority.
When asked if PH would approach PAS, Nga told FMT the first order of business was to seek an audience with the sultan.
“We want to give due respect to Sultan Nazrin, explain our situation and seek his advice.”
Meanwhile, a Perak BN leader who declined to be named told FMT that a BN-PAS coalition government in the state was “going to happen”.
The source said this was a more natural fit for both parties, and that the bad blood between PH and PAS was worse than the BN-PAS rivalry.
