The Borneo Post reported that Justice Azhahari Kamal Ramli heard arguments from lawyers representing ex-parte applicant Mohd Ainal Abdul Fattah and Shafie for about 40 minutes in chambers this afternoon.
Ainal had on April 17 filed for the review to get an order from the Election Commission (EC) to disallow Shafie from voting and being nominated.
He had made the application through Nurul Rafeeqa Marcel Advocates, naming EC and Shafie as the first and second respondents respectively.
Shafie is the Warisan candidate for the Semporna federal seat and Senallang state seat in Sabah in the 14th general election (GE14) on Wednesday.
The former Umno leader was the rural and regional development minister from 2009 to 2015 when he was dropped from the Cabinet following a fallout with Prime Minister Najib Razak.
He later formed Warisan, which is now cooperating with Pakatan Harapan in GE14.
