Tan said although it was good of Najib to “turun padang” three days ago, the voters had hoped to get some answers from him.
“There was a chance for him to explain to the people about many unanswered questions on 1MDB, Felda and Mara, but he didn’t,” she told FMT.
Tan said her urban voters were aware of the many current issues and would have liked to get an explanation from the BN chairman.
BN is looking to wrest the Wangsa Maju, Lembah Pantai and Bandar Tun Razak seats in Kuala Lumpur.
Tan is contesting against MCA’s Yew Teong Look who lost in 2008 by 150 votes.
Although PKR won Wangsa Maju with a majority of 5,000 votes in 2013, the recent redelineation exercise brought an additional 10,000 voters from the Malay-majority areas of Kampung Padang Balang and Kampung Changkat, which were formerly from the Batu constituency.
Over half of the voters in Wangsa Maju are Malays and 40% are Chinese.
Tan, who replaces incumbent Dr Tan Kee Kwong, said the feedback from her voters had been encouraging.
If she wins, she said, she hopes to provide more jobs for the voters, especially school leavers, adding that many Malay and Indian youths in the constituency needed assistance.
