“Sometimes, rumours like this are cooked up by the opposition and our people believe them.
“They make up all these rumours with the hope that we will be fighting against one another instead.
“Unfortunately for them, this will never happen because we know that this is nothing but only a war of nerves,” she told reporters after attending a meet-the-people event in her constituency today.
Hamisa, who is state assistant resource development and information technology minister, said some opposition parties are good at giving the impression that they are well supported by the people.
“For example, they will organise an event and there will be thousands of people attending. But upon closer scrutiny, we find that most of the attendees are not locals.
“Some of the attendees cannot even vote. And their events are not well attended always. Many times, you will find a lot of empty seats, too.”
Hamisa said BN will continue to serve the people while also keeping an eye on the opposition and listening to the issues brought up by the people so that once the election is over, these issues can be resolved.
The most important thing, she said, is for all BN members to unite and work together to defend BN.
“Sometimes, we see people who are disappointed because they are not made candidates in the election and they will ‘disappear’.
“Whether we are nominated or not, it is our responsibility to continue working for the people,” she said.
