
Therefore, he added, he would be contesting as a private individual, as would 159 others from PPBM.
“The hope was after they ‘illegalised’ PPBM, its chairman would not contest GE14.
“But I will contest as a private individual and our friends (DAP, PKR and Amanah) have decided that if we win, I will still be the prime minister.
“I am not sitting here as the chairman of Pakatan Harapan or PPBM because they both are not registered as the government is looking for any excuse to frustrate the opposition and to practically have no election or no contest for BN.
“We, however, have other ideas.
“Although we dispute the decision by the Registrar of Societies (RoS), we will abide by it,” he said during a press conference at the PPBM headquarters here today.
Therefore, he said, there would be no PPBM in GE14.
“PPBM has been temporarily dissolved and we will abide by these restrictions. I understand temporarily, for 30 days, the duration of the election.
“PPBM leaders will become independents and ask permission from PKR to allow us to use their logo.”
The EC had approved the use of the PKR logo by them, he said.
“I refer to the press statement by the EC which practically gave approval that we can collectively use the PKR logo when it said the decision for us to use the logo was decided by the party and not EC.
“The president of PKR has assured us that she is prepared to sign more than 700 letters of authority (watikah) for this election, the biggest number by anyone by any one party.”
