
The 37-year-old said he would love to play in this country because Malaysians are passionate about football.
“Actually, it is not a joke, I’d love to play in Malaysia. All people here love football and I’m sure the people will treat me very well.
“Maybe I will play here for free,” he told reporters in a press conference after the launch of the UEFA Championship Trophy Tour at a mall here today.
Around 400 football fans flooded the venue to catch a glimpse of the football living legend and for a chance to take a selfie with the UEFA Championship Trophy, which is nicknamed “Big Ears”.
Ronaldinho, a two-time Ballon d’Or winner, said he has many projects lined-up following his retirement in early January.
“As you know, I want to focus on my academy – Ronaldinho Soccer Academy, and give back to the kids as I want to help them become professional footballers in future,” he said.
Ronaldinho is also confident of his country’s chances at the World Cup this June.
“I think we have a great chance this time. We have a very strong team as well as a great coach,” he said.
