Its chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he would reveal the logo at a ceramah in Pasir Gudang, Johor, tomorrow.
“We have said before that we will use one logo. We are one, we are Pakatan Harapan. Nothing is going to break us,” the pact’s prime ministerial candidate said after a PH presidential council meeting today.
Mahathir said PH had made contingency plans in view of the problems it was facing, from the failure to register PH as a coalition to the possibility of PPBM’s deregistration.
Speculation is rife that PH may resort to using PKR’s logo as the common symbol for the four parties in the opposition pact.
PH is made up of PPBM, PKR, DAP and Amanah.
Last week, PH vice-president Salahuddin Ayub said the presidential council had decided to use either the PKR or Amanah logo in GE14.
On March 23, Registrar of Societies (RoS) director-general Surayati Ibrahim said PPBM, which is led by Mahathir, was holding back the PH registration as the new party was required to submit minutes of division, branch and central meetings as well as the party’s financial statement.
PH parties made the application to the RoS on July 28 but have yet to hear from the agency. They wrote again on Aug 21, asking for a meeting to discuss the application, but again received no response.
PH sent RoS a notice on Oct 25, asking it to respond to the application within 14 days of receiving the letter or face legal action.
The coalition submitted its draft constitution to the RoS on July 24 and its logo on July 28.
The High Court will hear today PH’s bid to compel the RoS to register the opposition pact.
