Apas rep Tawfiq Abu Bakar dies

The 56-year-old had been receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur.

Apas assemblyman Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan died last night at the age of 56.

Tawfiq, who was Sabah youth and sport minister, had been receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur for the past nine months.

He had served Apas since the 2004 general election.

His treatment was originally scheduled to conclude at the end of March, with follow-up sessions after that.
