Lim showed the picture to newsmen following the posting of a picture of him with the Datuk Seri on social media in an attempt to link him to the probe against the Datuk Seri.
Pakatan Harapan believes it is the work of Barisan Nasional-linked people.
“I don’t want to show pictures of ministers. I want to show a picture of someone who is a strong MCA supporter; where he is seen in a photo with a BN man.
“Do you know this person? And what are they doing? I do not want to make any allegations, but if you are going to show a photo proving that you are close buddies … then see for yourself.
“This photo has given rise to a lot of questions as this guy is a BN man (the Datuk Seri). I do not want to play politics,” Lim told reporters today.

Although he did not specify who the person in the picture was, it resembled Wong Chun Wai, the group managing director and chief executive officer of The Star Media group.
When contacted, Wong confirmed he was the one in the picture and that it had been taken during an event held by The Star last August.
“Many times, I am asked for photos to be taken with them. Most of them are unknown to me. I do not know this particular person (Datuk Seri) implicated.
“As is evident in this photo, where there are more than two persons present, this is a public function and not in anyone’s private residence.
“I was dressed in my black dinner jacket and for sure was wearing my shoes when that particular photo was taken,” he said.
Wong was referring to Lim’s picture with the Datuk Seri where both of them were indoors and without their shoes.
Lim is mulling legal action against several media organisations, following the publication of the photograph of him with the businessman, who is being investigated for corruption linked to the Penang undersea tunnel project.
The chief minister’s office had said it was normal for a public figure like him to be photographed with many people, including those he did not know.
Lim’s office had said the DAP leader had also taken photos with another businessman linked to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), and asked if that meant that Lim was also connected to 1MDB.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had recently arrested a businessman with a “Datuk Seri” title for questioning over allegations of receiving RM19 million to “close investigations” into the tunnel project.
The 37-year-old was released on bail of RM150,000 after spending 11 days in MACC’s custody.
MACC is probing whether the man, whose wife is a leader of a non-governmental organisation, had received the money from the main contractor of the project as alleged.
