As such, he said, he was confident that the party led by Abdul Hadi Awang will not win in GE14.

“I hope that during the general election, do not vote the two parties — the ‘dacing’ (Barisan Nasional-BN) and the moon (PAS).

“The moon cannot win, it is only a distraction.

“Its presence is merely to assist BN,” he said in his speech at a gathering with the Orang Asli community in Kampung Gumum here today.

He was referring to the “dacing” (scale) logo used in the general election by the ruling party, BN, and PAS’ moon logo.

Mahathir, who is also PPBM chairman, said if the opposition coalition wins in GE14, it will fight not just for the welfare of the Orang Asli in Pekan, but also others throughout the country.

He said among the issues which will be given attention is the preservation of the environment as the Orang Asli are dependent on natural resources for their income.
