Its deputy chairman Francis Goh claimed that Parti Warisan Sabah and PPBM were both wealthy, while PKR had the benefit of ruling over Selangor since 2008.
“Yet when it comes to spending money on the people, they always say they have no money and blame the (federal) government for everything,” he said.
“Instead of finding ways to help the people, they resort to pointing ‘magic fingers’ at the government,” he said.
“In contrast, BN parties continue to spend their own money to help the people such as in organising non-government events,” he said at MCA’s “Pesta Angpao” event in Penampang last night.
Goh also claimed that DAP, which leads the Penang government, had played up its handling of the state’s economy although it had recorded a deficit budget.

On the other hand, Sabah under the leadership of Chief Minister Musa Aman had seen surplus annual budgets for seven consecutive years now, he said.
“And yet DAP is the one that always claims publicly that it has the best administration in the country by pointing to Penang,” he said.
Goh said the Chinese community in Sabah should note how DAP tried to appease its political allies in the past regardless of whether they went against DAP’s proclaimed principles or not.
He said MCA had vehemently protested when PAS tried to pass hudud law in Kelantan, compared to DAP which he claimed did not do enough as PAS was then its ally.
He added that DAP had also made PPBM chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad an ally after the party had fought against the former prime minister for years.
“So next time DAP says something, I hope the people will remember that this is a party with no principles whatsoever,” Goh said.
In his speech at the event, Musa said the state government had never sidelined development in Penampang despite voters there having overwhelmingly chosen the opposition for the parliamentary constituency and the two state seats of Moyog and Kepayan.
“The views and requests of BN leaders in Penampang are always deliberated on and we are supportive of what is required,” he said.
“The state government allocates RM2 million each year for the Moyog and Kepayan constituencies through the Penampang district office,” he added.
