
“Just wait for nomination day. But PBS is ready to face the election,” he said when asked by reporters at the PBS Chinese New Year open house here today.
He was asked whether he would contest in the 14th general election (GE14).
About two years ago, he announced his retirement from politics but last December, he said he was willing to consider the party’s advice on whether to contest in GE14.
PBS acting president Maximus Ongkili had also said in December that the party had frequently discussed nominating Pairin in GE14.
Pairin, 77, is currently Keningau member of parliament and Tambunan assemblyman.
The Sabah deputy chief minister, who has been active in politics since 1975, is still considered a respected political figure in Sabah.
