PETALING JAYA:
The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has assured members that there was no compromise to data integrity or savings following a fire that razed its building in Petaling Jaya earlier today.

In a statement, it said its crisis response team was working closely with the Fire and Rescue Department to contain the spread of the blaze.

“As the safety of customers and staff is our prime concern, total evacuation of the building has been taken, and office and counter services are closed until further notice,” it said.

“We would like to assure members that there has been no compromise to data integrity or members savings in any manner.

“We will continue to monitor the situation as it develops and will provide an update once the branch is back in operation.”

Thick smoke and flames could be seen billowing from the building’s upper floors earlier today, as fire fighters struggled to put out the blaze.

The fire brought traffic along the Federal Highway and Jalan Gasing to a crawl.

Ambulance sirens could be heard, but no casualties have been reported so far.
