
Lawyer Haniff Hassan, who represented the 48-year-old actor, said his client was released after police recorded his statement.
The actor, who is from Terengganu, was investigated under Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for self-administration of a drug.
The offence provides an imprisonment of up to two years, or fine of up to RM5,000, or both, and to be placed under supervision for up to three years if found guilty.
He was arrested at the Mutiara Damansara police station last Tuesday when he went to give a statement in connection with a police report lodged by actor/director Farid Kamil Zahari, 37, on Jan 31.
In the report, Farid claimed that three of his artiste friends were believed to have placed drug in his drinks and that caused him to act wild and he was later arrested by the police following an incident at the Kota Damansara police station last month.
