Project manager claims trial for CBT involving RM2.54 million

Over 50,000 bags of fertiliser could see Muhamad Nasir Razak jailed up to 20 years if convicted.

MELAKA: A former project manager for a government-run paddy fertiliser scheme claimed trial in the Sessions Court here today to criminal breach of trust involving more than RM2.54 million.

Muhamad Nasir Razak, 38, allegedly committed the offence involving some 56,700 bags of fertiliser at the Farmers Organisation Office on Jalan Jasin, Merlimau, Jasin near here, between Jan 31, 2016 and Dec 31, 2016.

The charge under Section 409 of the Penal Code carries a maximum 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping, with the individual liable to a fine upon conviction.

Judge Meor Sulaiman Ahmad Tarmizi set bail at RM200,000 with one surety and ordered the accused to report to the Melaka Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office here every first Saturday of the month pending disposal of the case.

The court set March 6 for re-mention.

Deputy public prosecutor Irwanshah Abdul Samad appeared for MACC while the accused was unrepresented.
