PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today raided the home of Perak DAP MP Nga Kor Ming, as well as his service centre and the home of his parents.

It is understood that MCMC officers also confiscated his mobile phone and a laptop.

A DAP source in Perak confirmed the raids to FMT, adding that the Taiping MP is currently at the Sungai Senam police station.

Nga said the MCMC actions today had to do with comments critical of the government that he posted on social media, adding that he was informed that MCMC was investigating him under Section 233 (1) of the MCMC Act, for wrongful use of internet facilities.

Nga’s latest Facebook posting was that of a picture of a monkey, condemning Umno for the latest fuel hike announced yesterday.
