Felda chairman Shahrir Abdul Samad said the land was returned following an agreement today with Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd (SPSB).
Shahrir however said police reports filed over the transfer would not be cancelled, and a forensic audit would also be continued to identify abuses in the transaction.
“Although the land transfer issue was only known on December 21, Felda had as early as January 2017 taken steps to return the land to its ownership,” said Shahrir.
He said SPSB has voluntarily agreed to return all the 16 lots of land to Felda without costs, and surrendered ownership documents to register them again under Felda,” he said.
The issue was first reported by Berita Harian, which said the land was transferred in a “dubious” transaction in 2015.
The transfer occurred after Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) had appointed a local company as the main developer on June 3, 2014 and awarded it full power of attorney to develop the land.
It is alleged that the company had used the power of attorney to transfer the title of the land as well.
Felda was headed by Isa Samad as chairman until January this year and he was also chairman of FIC at the time the transfer had taken place.
Shahrir said the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) project on the site would go ahead, while Felda and SPSB would renegotiate the agreement and take into consideration the interests of all parties.
