She said it was as if the coalition was still unable to name its candidate after 20 years of struggle.
“This is despite us winning in Selangor and Penang without PPBM back then,” she told FMT.
Yesterday, PH confirmed Mahathir as its prime minister candidate if the four-party coalition wins in GE14.
PH chief secretary Saifuddin Abdullah said its president, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, would be the deputy prime minister.
Zuraida said PH’s announcement would not deter her from working harder to win GE14.
“If anything happens now and during the election… it is by God’s will,” she added.
The Ampang MP said she had no personal problems with the PH chairman but reaffirmed her stand that Mahathir should hold the position of senior minister if PH wins in GE14.
Former Otai Reformasi president Saari Sungib meanwhile said he agreed with Mahathir being named as prime minister candidate.
He added that it had been his party’s decision, and was made together within the coalition.
Saari, who is Amanah’s Hulu Kelang assemblyman, said despite his long struggle against Mahathir, he considered the PPBM chairman a rational and objective individual with ambitions to take down Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).
“To me, whatever he does is easy. He has contributed towards weakening Prime Minister Najib Razak’s regime, and he has helped us move forward in this struggle.”
