Land deal: MACC gives Warisan VP, lawyer 48 hours to surrender

This is to facilitate probe into the purchase of an oil palm plantation, worth about RM155 million in Sabah.

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has given two individuals, including a political leader, 48-hours to surrender to its office in Sabah to facilitate investigation into the purchase of an oil palm plantation, worth about RM155 million, in the Tongod district in Sabah.

The commission, in a statement today, said besides Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) vice-president Peter Anthony, 46, it was also looking for lawyer Michael Persius Ubu, 61, to assist in the investigations.

Anthony’s last known address is House No 20 Taman Cantek Phase 4, Lorong Bunga Dahlia 3, 88200 Kota Kinabalu, while Ubu’s is Lot 8-G, Lorong Rainfield 1, Taman Rainfield, Kota Kinabalu.

“They are given 48 hours to surrender at the Sabah MACC office to assist in investigations,” it said.

The MACC also urged those with information on the duo’s whereabouts to contact Senior Assistant Superintendent Mohd Tharuzi Mohd Nor at 013-9557850.
