The message on the red bunting below the logo of Malaysia Airports had read “Wishing you a Mary Christmas & Happy New Years”.
Luckily, the bunting with the carelessly-spelt words was not seen at other airports.
Now it is the turn of Singapore’s transport operator SBS Transit to apologise for a spelling error in its Christmas greeting at an MRT station along the Downtown Line.
Straits Times said a photo posted on online discussion website Reddit on Dec 24 showed the words “Marry Christmas” on the display at the entrance of an unknown station in the republic.
Just like in the MAHB case, the photo was shared widely on various social media platforms, with many netizens poking fun at the error, the daily said.
They made fun of the mistake, with one person stating he was not sure “if Christmas wanna marry me”.
Another said even the spelling had suffered a breakdown in SBS Transit, referring to frequent recent interruptions in service.
SBS Transit hoped this incident had not marred the festivities for its commuters.
“We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas,” a spokesperson said.
