PORT DICKSON: Former Felda chairman Mohd Isa Samad said he will cooperate if the police call him to give a statement on the transfer of ownership of a plot of land belonging to the agency at Jalan Semarak in Kuala Lumpur.

“When the police and SPRM (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) call, I will go. I will cooperate. But so far, there is no call yet.

“Tan Sri Shahrir (Samad) has made a police report, (so) let the police investigate,” he said, referring to his successor.

Shahrir replaced Isa as Felda chairman in January.

Felda risks losing ownership of the land worth at least RM200 million, after the title was transferred in a “dubious” transaction in 2015, according to a report by Berita Harian.

The report said the transfer occurred after Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) appointed a local company as the main developer on June 3, 2014 and awarded it full power of attorney to develop the land.

The company allegedly used the power of attorney to transfer the title without any payment to Felda.

Isa was chairman of Felda and FIC at the time the transfer took place.

The land is being developed for the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) project.
