In the letter cited by theSun daily, they said the body of Ivana Esther Robert Smit had not been released despite being found earlier this month.
“Ivana’s cause of death remains unknown, and a thorough investigation appears to be lacking in the incident.

It was issued by the family’s lawyer, Sébas Diekstra, on behalf of Ivana’s father Marcel Smit and his wife, C Verstappen.
The 18-year-old model died on Dec 7 after falling from the window of a 20th floor unit, landing on the balcony of a 6th floor mezzanine of the CapSquare Residences off Jalan Dang Wangi.
She had been staying with an American man and his Kazakhstan wife in the apartment after going out with them the night before.
The case was initially classified as sudden death but investigations have been re-opened following pressure from the family and the Dutch embassy.
According to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, Ivana’s family is suspicious over the circumstances surrounding her death. They claim she had marks and bruises on her neck that looked “like fingerprints”.
On Dec 14, they started a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a Dutch pathologist and a US investigator to come to Malaysia to determine if her death was accidental or had criminal elements.
Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Shaharuddin Abdullah told theSun last week that the case would remain classified as sudden death for now.
“However, if we find incriminating evidence that indicates foul play in her death, we will re-classify the case,” he said.
