In his statement of claim filed at the Sessions Court here, Placid P Rodriguez alleged that a SEA Games medallist kicked him in the chest and other areas four times on July 6.
“I was walking along the platform and she suddenly pushed me.
“She was screaming at me, but I do not know what had happened,” he said, adding that he was wearing a hearing aid at the time of the incident.
Placid said he begged the woman to stop kicking him, but to no avail.
The 69-year-old also claimed the woman’s action was meant to provoke him and “create a scene”.
“Security guards at the LRT station later intervened, and I was taken to the investigation room in the station before being taken to the Putra Heights police station.”
Placid said the woman had also lodged a police report over the incident at the LRT station.
“The police transferred me to the USJ8 police station for investigation, and I was held by police overnight and only released the next day.”
The incident was caught on CCTV, he added.
Placid claimed he suffered from stress following the alleged attack, and that he was humiliated by the incident.
He is seeking general and aggravated damages.
Placid is also demanding an apology from her.
His lawyer Arunan Selvaraj said Placid filed the suit against the sportswoman as a matter of principle as he did not want others to go through his experience.
Arunan added that police had not taken any action against Placid over the woman’s report, and that the case had been closed.
