In today’s proceeedings, state speaker Mohamad Aziz decided to remove Mengkibol assemblyman Tan Hong Pin from the state assembly after the latter refused to sit down despite being told to do so several times.
The incident occurred during a committee stage debate on the state’s development allocations, when Tan wanted Menteri Besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin to provide answers pertaining to the budget for water supply projects.
However, Khaled told the house that Tan’s questions had been answered previously, and that he chose not to repeat them.
Tan had insisted though that his question on the RM15 million allocation for all water supply projects in the state for next year, as announced by Khaled, were not answered satisfactorily.
He sought clarification if the amount was an allocation for a project that was already announced by Khaled last year, that is for the building of pipes to transfer water from the Kahang dam to Sembrong Timur.
After the speaker failed to get Tan to sit down and allow the debate to proceed, he ordered that Tan leave the assembly.
On Nov 27, Wong was ordered to leave the Johor state assembly sitting for refusing to retract her statement against the Johor menteri besar when debating the Johor Budget 2018 speech.
The order was only applicable for that day and she returned to the assembly the next day.
According to Bernama, during the debate session earlier that day, Wong had issued a statement saying that in March, Khaled had been accused of receiving RM12 million from a developer to change the status of Bumiputera housing lots to non-Bumiputera lots.
She claimed to have found out about the matter through documents uploaded on a website, and asked the menteri besar to respond to the allegations.
