Umno information chief Annuar Musa said the government wanted the Chinese to become leaders and senators.
“We want the Chinese to be leaders and rulers, that is why we have an alliance. We want the Malays and Chinese to be leaders.
“But by supporting the opposition, they have become the opposition,” he said during an event featuring two DAP critics.
Annuar also said DAP was creating a rift among the Malays in order to gain power, and gave examples of Malay-based parties such as Amanah who are alligned to DAP.
At the talk today, former Gerakan leader Huan Cheng Guan, who is now part of Parti Cinta Malaysia said DAP had turned into an “arrogant” party following gains in recent polls.
“DAP was a neutral party before they won big in the general elections and are now seen as arrogant and racist,” Huan said, adding that the party had also sidelined the Malays and destroyed Malay villages.
Huan added that DAP had managed to hoodwink the Chinese community, to the point that they could not tell the difference between fact and fiction.
“Some work done by DAP is wrong but they put the blame on others. For instance, the flash floods in Penang are getting worse, yet the hills are still being developed,” he said.
Former DAP member Mohamed Razali Abdul Rahman also spoke at the forum moderated by Annuar.
