The helicopter, operated by Layang Layang Aerospace Sdn Bhd, dropped suddenly and broke its skids when hitting the ground shortly after taking off for a test flight at around 4.30pm.
When contacted by FMT, an official from the company confirmed the incident and that the four crew members had been uninjured. Investigations are under way, the official said.
Personnel from the fire and rescue department rushed to the scene to render assistance.
According to its website, the company has nine Eurocopter helicopters, four of which are configured for emergency medical services, and one Bell chopper.

This is the second helicopter crash in Sabah in two years.
Last year, 17 people escaped with slight injuries after a Nuri helicopter of the Royal Malaysian Air Force crashed onto the roof of a school building in Tawau.
News reports cited different numbers of those injured in the crash, although it was believed that four students were among them.
It remained unclear as to how many air force personnel were injured.
According to The Star, the helicopter took off from Tawau airport en route to Semporna when the pilot lost control of the aircraft and it crashed onto the roof of a building under construction in SMK Balung.
