Remains of MyCEB manager who died on London flight arrive in KL

Manisa Mohamed Nor was travelling alone to attend a convention in Prague.

SEPANG: The remains of Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) marketing and communications division manager, Manisa Mohamed Nor, who died on board a flight to London, arrived home today.

Manisa, 39, died while on British Airways flight BA34 last Saturday as she travelled alone from Kuala Lumpur to London, prompting an emergency landing at Esenboga Airport in Ankara, Turkey.

She was on her way to attend the 56th International Congress and Convention Association conference in Prague, Czech Republic, held from Sunday to Wednesday.

Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister Mas Ermieyati Samsuddin, who was at the KLIA Cargo Village here to receive the remains that arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 5.20pm, said the cause of Manisa’s death was still not known.

She also recorded her thanks to the foreign ministry and tourism and culture ministry for making arrangements to bring Manisa’s remains back.

Mas Ermieyati said Manisa, who was her junior at Sekolah Tun Fatimah, Johor Bahru, Johor, would always be remembered as a dedicated and responsible person.

Manisa, who was unmarried, had served in MyCEB for six years.

She was buried at the Ampang Muslim cemetery after Isyak prayers today.
