
SEREMBAN: Only one out of 64 tahfiz schools in Negeri Sembilan has complied with safety requirements specified by the fire and rescue department, said Menteri Besar Mohamad Hasan.
He said, of the total, 41 had yet to register with the state education department and the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council.
“Tahfiz schools who have not met the safety specifications set by the fire and rescue department and have not registered are given until June next year to do so.
“Errant schools will be closed down immediately,” he told a media conference here yesterday.
The only tahfiz school which meets the safety specification is Maahad Ahmadi Negeri Sembilan, Gemencheh which is under the state government.
