“Selangor (is) in full solidarity with the people of Penang in these very trying times,” he said in several tweets today.
Azmin said he would liaise with Lim to get feedback on the flood situation up north and plan immediate aid.
He also tweeted that he was cancelling all his evening and night programmes to rush to Penang to assist flood victims.
Four people are believed to have died in the massive floods, while about 1,968 had been moved to evacuation centres.

Meanwhile, PAS’ head of disaster and emergency management (Khidmat Malaysia) Iskandar Abdul Samad said all departments, agencies and units within the party involved with rescue operations for disaster victims had been instructed to help in the flood relief efforts in Penang.
All the members are required to report immediately to the Khidmat Malaysia operations room in Penang, located at its Markaz Tarbiyyah in Kepala Batas.
“All workers have to report for duty equipped with four-wheel drive vehicles, rescue boats, life jackets and cleaning tools,” he added.
Iskandar said 200 volunteers and 30 tonnes of food will be sent initially to Penang. Five “dapur rakyat” mobile kitchens will be set up in five places to help cook food for victims and flood relief workers.
Lim had said the massive flooding was a result of excessive rain recorded in the state over the last 15 hours.
He had said the equivalent of one-and-a-half months of rain was recorded in Penang in less than 24 hours.
This was likely due to the effects of Typhoon Damrey which had wreaked havoc in Vietnam, he added.
Lim said Butterworth recorded 372mm of rain last night — the highest on record in the state. The previous highest recorded rainfall was 315mm at the Air Itam Dam not long ago.
The Meteorological Department has forecast that rain would continue.
It has issued an “orange” alert warning to indicate continuous rainfall with strong winds in the northern states of Kedah, Perlis and Penang.
The National Security Council is coordinating with police and military to assist flood victims.
About 2,800 people have been placed in flood relief centres. Another 2,000 have also been evacuated in Kedah and about 100 in Perak.
