PETALING JAYA:
Forty poor families in Cameron Highlands are to lodge police reports against two assistants of the prime minister.

They are upset with the two for failing to set up a meeting with the PM to discuss their difficulties getting affordable homes.

They intend to make the report against the two — the PM’s political secretary Jailani Ngah and his assistant, Mohd Azizol — for allegedly not carrying out their duties and making false promises.

They intend to make the reports to the Cameron Highlands police on Nov 13.

Speaking to FMT, Cameron Highlands’ Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) secretary B Suresh said Azizol had assured the families that he would get them an appointment to meet the PM.

“We went to the Visitor Registration Building (of the Prime Minister’s Department in Putrajaya) on Oct 24 to see the PM.

“A lot of people came to see us, one by one, and told us to go back.

“They said they would take the matter up to the top but we insisted that we wouldn’t budge until we got a final answer.

“Finally, when it was closing time, Azizol met us and promised he would email our appointment letter to meet the PM the next day.

“Now, over a week has passed and we have still not received any word.

“So the families will file police reports on the matter so they know we are serious.”

Suresh said the families had written three letters to PM Najib Razak over the last three months requesting to see him but had received no reply.

He said the PSM office in Cameron Highlands had received complaints from 40 families about their housing woes but he believed the actual number of families affected could be closer to 100.
