PETALING JAYA:
Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun today hit back at claims that police are keeping mum on investigations into a video allegedly involving Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Dzulkifli Ahmad.

“As I have mentioned before, the investigation is ongoing,” the top cop told FMT.

He added that police had taken all necessary action related to the case.

Yesterday, Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo said there was a lack of action against high-ranking officials involved in crime.

He brought up the video allegedly involving Dzulkifli, asking if there was a cover-up when MACC investigates the police and the police in turn investigate MACC.

“The IGP is silent on the matter, the attorney-general is silent and MACC is silent and doesn’t want to answer if he (the MACC chief) is the one in the video.

“Are other cases suspended in MACC because of this video? Are there other videos? We need answers. Is this not a serious case? Why are the police dragging their feet?”

Gobind added that Fuzi had been proven to be the weakest police chief and was “completely incapable of doing anything”.

Fuzi however said he was not interested in what Gobind had to say, and that as far as he was concerned, the police had been doing their job.

“He can say whatever he wants, but I think we have done whatever necessary things we need to do in all cases.”

The video in question was taken from CCTV footage and appears to show Dzulkifli holding hands with a married woman and entering a restaurant in Bali.

The clip was said to have been taken in July this year.

Another video clip shows flight tickets, hotel registration papers and other footage of the couple and luggage being moved out of a hotel.

Dzulkifli previously responded to the alleged scandal by calling it “dirty and disgusting attacks” by people whom he did not identify.

However, the MACC chief did not deny the alleged affair with the woman.

She and her husband divorced last month.
