GEORGE TOWN:
A Firefly plane made a turnaround and returned to the Penang International Airport this morning after encountering a technical issue.

Flight FY2087 departed Penang at 10am enroute to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, in Subang, Selangor but was forced into making an emergency turnaround minutes later.

“There was a technical issue detected during the flight and we routinely brought it back to the airport for checks. The aircraft landed uneventfully,” Firefly CEO Ignatius Ong said when contacted.

There has been no further details as yet.
